ResearchWeather Intelligence helps clients identify where and how weather impacts their performance and how future climate changes may influence their organisations.
This is achieved through research into:
Short Term Weather
To successfully specify any investment, whether in infrastructure, services or procedural change, it is first necessary to understand the impact that weather has on the organisation. This can be done through historic analysis or in situ data collection using weather observation stations. Weather Intelligence helps develop such research methodologies, analyse the results and provide reccomendations for next steps.
Long Term Climate Change
The UK Climate Impacts Programme climate change scenarios, UKCP09, provide a wealth of information on what the future climate of the UK might look like. As well as providing a range of potential future scenarios, depending on which carbon emissions path is followed, each scenario has an associated probability density function. This helps organisations better plan for future changes in climate and justify any investment in preparing for the effects.
We help our clients to interpret UKCP09 scenarios and identify how the predicted changes in climate will affect their organisation. This also includes working with organisations to understand their resilience and specify how to attain the level of resillience they aim to achieve.
