Weather Intelligence offers training to organisations in the fields of climate change mitigation and adaptation.
 
Our standard one day training remit learning objectives include: 
 
Mitigation
 
  • Develop an understanding of basic climate change science
  • Gain an appreciation for the consequences of Climate Change.
  • Review the current key national policy drivers for mitigation.
  • Introduce methods of mitigation, including both reducing energy use and looking at renewable energy options.
  • Understand how to measure mitigation activities, using tools such as Carbon Costing, to demonstrate improvements 

 

Adaptation 
 
  • Understand the link between climate change mitigation and adaptation.
  • Gain an appreciation for how weather and climate impacts upon their organisation.
  • Understand how other organisations are vulnerable and the third party impact of this upon the delegate’s organisation.
  • Review the current key national policy drivers for weather and climate change.
  • Introduce methods of adaptation, including risk assessment and dealing with uncertainty, including the use of UKCP09.
